About Time Dilation
According to Einstein's General Relativity, time runs slower in
stronger gravitational fields. Near a black hole, this effect becomes
extreme.
t₀ = t∞ × √(1 - rs/r)
Where:
t₀ = proper time (time experienced locally)
t∞ = coordinate time (time measured by distant
observer)
rs = Schwarzschild radius = 2GM/c²
r = distance from black hole center
Note: This calculator uses the Schwarzschild metric
for non-rotating black holes. Real black holes typically rotate (Kerr
metric), which would modify these calculations.
